Why did you join Boulder Road Runners?
Oh, I visited last summer and liked the area and the running atmosphere so much that I went back for this year’s BB, and spent two weeks in the area. But the biggest reason I guess is Mr super nice, Don Janicki!

Do you have any upcoming race or running goals?
As I live in Sweden, it was a given to enter the WMAC I Gothenburg in August, with over 8000 competitors and 111 counties, it will be a blast!

Track meets

Do you have any upcoming races or running goals?
I was competitive in masters track and field (sprinting distances) before the pandemic. Four years, two kids, one spinal surgery, and one interstate move later, I’m just looking to get back into competition!

I played football up through college, but I’m actually better at e-sports, where I hold several world records in speedrunning retro video games!

Why did you join Boulder Road Runners?
I wanted to run in an event at a BRR all-comers meet; since I’d be benefiting from volunteers conducting my event, I thought it meaningful to volunteer myself on a different date. It snowballed from there, and I’ve become a regular.

Do you have any upcoming races or running goals?
Find a way to conquer my knee pain so I can try to get back into racing shape. I know I’m preaching to the choir when I say the realities of getting old can be tough to accept.

Tell us a quick fun fact about yourself (or your family)
I’ve been in Boulder since the early 90s, but running-wise have been a loner. I’m kind of regretting not getting involved in the all-comers track meets sooner, as it’s been fun to be at the other end of the telescope. I also enjoy being a ski instructor for disabled veterans in winter.

Born with intense pigeon toed-ness and bowlegged-ness that doctors originally thought running would be difficult and basically out of the question. I then went on to run from middle school through high school going to state multiple times.
