We are happy to announce that the Boulder Road Runners is rewarding five scholarships to runners traveling to the Olympic Team Trials in Eugene Oregon next week. Each athlete will receive $500 and we hope this money will help ease the burden of costs for these runners as they travel and stay for over a week at the Trials.

The athletes chosen represent the spirit of Boulder and the sport of running and who have dedicated themselves to put in countless hours of training and dedication to make the qualifying standards. This is the first Olympic Team Trials in Track and Field for each of these athletes

The recipients of this year’s scholarships are TEAM Boulder’s David Goodman and Carrie Verdon, Roots Running Project’s Frank Lara, and RISE Altheltics’ Nell Rojas.

David will be competing in the Steeplechase, Frank, and Carrie are making their bid at the 5,000m and 10,000m, Nell Rojas will be competing in the 10,000m

We at the BRR have been huge fans and supporters of the sport of running since 1979.

We support local running races like TEAM Boulder’s Downtown series to the BOLDERBoulder. We support runners of all levels from youth, to recreational runners, through master runners. But it’s rare when we get to support local runners who compete at the highest levels in the sport. Our history of supporting runners goes back to supporting Olympians Jenny Simpson and Shalaya Kipp as they competed in Europe over the summers

A big thank you to John Minen and Colorado Sports Chiropractic for contributing in enough funds to support one of these runners. Support of these programs are always appreciated and donation options are available on our page or by purchasing adult tech tees available at our track meets.

Congratulations again to all of these athletes, and know that the Boulder Road Runners and our running community are rooting for them.
