How long have you been a member of Boulder Road Runners?
3 years.

Why did you join Boulder Road Runners?
Chris McDonald stalked me on social media after hearing/seeing my race results from triathlon.

Why do you maintain your membership?
To help the team out in scoring at high-profile events like XC Club Nationals.

What are some of your favorite things about the club?
Team camaraderie, trips and racing with outstanding athletes and personalities, pushing each other for a common cause. Even if that “cause” is running just be”cause” it’s fun!

How are you involved with the club / what do you give back?
I primarily focus on helping the team out in points for XC Club Nats and soon, Hood To Coast relay…if I had more time, I would probably be more involved.

Do you have any upcoming races or running goals?
Upcoming races are mostly triathlon–Boulder Peak, US Standard (Olympic Distance) Nationals, then Hood to Coast Relay and coming out of an 8 year “retirement” from Ironman racing, to compete in Ironman Florida in November–then if I can still move physically–a month later XC Club Nationals in Tallahassee with my buddies on BRR.

Tell us a quick fact about yourself.
I have three jobs, four if you count being a dad. Real Estate Agent, Network Technician, and endurance coach with a focus on triathlon. All while ranked #1 in the USA for my age group (M50-54) in triathlon.

How long have you been a member of Boulder Road Runners?
I’ve been a member of BRR for almost one year.

Why did you join Boulder Road Runners?
I joined BRR to be part of an active competitive running community.

Why do you maintain your membership?
I like staying connected to Boulder running, and meeting people who share my love of the sport.

What are some of your favorite things about the club?
I really enjoy the track meets and being part of the W50+ racing team.

How are you involved with the club / what do you give back?
I’ve attended the Member Banquet and the Aspire OTQ kickoff where it is evident that our club is growing and giving back to the community. I haven’t done as much hands-on volunteering for the club but I was able to be part of the teardown crew at BolderBoulder this year.

Do you have any upcoming races or running goals?
My running goals for this year is to run above 85% age-graded and in doing so maybe run some more personal bests. I’m looking forward to running the Hood-to-Coast relay with some of my BRR teammates as well as some other ladies.

Tell us a quick fact about yourself.
Figure skating is one of my favorite cross-training workouts.

Anything else the readers may be interested in?
I’ve run on every continent except Antarctica.
