Two Boulder Road Runner Men’s masters teams took to the streets to compete at the USATF Masters 5k Championships held in Atlanta, Georgia on February 25, 2023, as part of the Publix Atlanta Marathon weekend.
The 5k Champs was the third race in the USATF Masters Grand Prix series where teams compete to gather series points and both teams earned top podium spot.
The Men’s 70-79 team topped the podium led by Doug Chestnut and Doug Bell grabbing 2nd and 3rd in their age group, and rounding out the team score was Richard Katz in 8th. Jan Frisby was the fourth runner on the team and their top 3 scoring runners averaged a time of 21:34 beating the formidable Atlanta Track Club by nearly three minutes
The Men’s 60-69 team took Second Place honors with Roger Sayer, Adam Feerst, and John Blaser with an average time of 19:29.
