Here’s a quick Q&A with a few of them:
Bob Cottrell
Why did you join the BRR?
To have an opportunity to run with club relay teams (4 x 400 or 4 x 800) teams at USATF National or Regional Championships, or simply to attempt club and national records in age group relays. In additions, I love the All-Comers track meets, so I’d like to support BRR, and have a better chance of getting to know other BRR members.
Do you have any upcoming race or running goals?
Indeed, very specific ones! I went 59.90 in the 400 last year at a BRR All-Comers. So going sub-60 again is a 400 goal. I also have set the goal of trying to “run my age” in the 400 for the next decade–or maybe longer! In addition, I am pursuing sub-2:20 in the 800. The time goals are good, but more importantly, I want to focus on championship racing and set myself up to bring home my first USATF Masters National Championship podium in the 400, 800 or both.
Tell us a quick fun fact about yourself (or your family)
In order to save some of the pounding that running can bring, I am an avid cross-country skier, competing in races at least a few times most seasons. My wife, Dana, and I have lived in Summit County since 1993. We love our community and believe in actively volunteering in it.

Why did you join the BRR?
My family moved to the front range a few months ago from Crested Butte where I was training solo. I missed the camaraderie of working out and racing with a team, so I reached out to BRR within a week of arriving in town. My goal is to be a better runner at all distances and to contribute to the team!
Do you have any upcoming race or running goals?
My goal is to set lifetime PRs for the 10K (36:30), half marathon (1:21) and marathon (3:09). My next A race is Bolder Boulder
Tell us a quick fun fact about yourself (or your family)
My wife (Lan) daughter (Mia), and I all have 3-letter first names.
Scott Boylan
Why did you join the BRR?
I love running with others who enjoy running. Also to do something I’ve never done: Track races.
Do you have any upcoming race or running goals?
Boston Marathon in April ( 16th time). My 2023 running goal is to do track races.
Tell us a quick fun fact about yourself (or your family)
I am an Ironman racer but now only do Half Ironman races. I do 1-2 Marathons a year. Started back doing 5k and 10k. Did my first 4×800 race with BRR and had a great time doing it.
